Connecting the World Through Honey, Connecting Nature Through Beeswax

PROGRAM

This cultural and environmental education program compares the beekeeping culture of the Julian Alps in Slovenia, this year's Guest Country at the Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival, with that of Ulsan Ulju. Through this comparison, participants explore the important role bees play in nature and the ecosystem. Participants then use beeswax obtained from the natural honey production process to make their own garland, directly experiencing the value of resource circulation and eco-friendliness.

 

Program Details
- Instructor introduction, activity guide, introduction to the festival and this year's Guest Country
- Introduction to Slovenia's beekeeping history, traditional beehive culture, and World Bee Day
- Comparison of Korean and Slovenian beekeeping, understanding the role of beeswax and bees
- Making a garland using natural beeswax
- Finishing and packaging the work​
