Young Willie McKay travels south to claim his father's inheritance. On the train, he falls in love with a young woman — the daughter of the Canfield family, locked in a blood feud with the McKays. Thanks to the Southern code of hospitality, which forbids harming a guest in one's home, Willie stays alive by never leaving the Canfield house. A masterpiece of silent comedy, crowned by the waterfall rescue — one of Keaton's most breathtaking stunts.
