In Korea, a “Beommusa” is a licensed legal practitioner who prepares court documents for people in crisis. In a beommusa’s office, a father aids debtors yet is indebted himself. Eight years ago, fearing that debt might one day destroy his father, the director became his assistant to help repay what was owed. This film traces debt-born pain, seeking dissolution. 

Although he helps others file for rehabilitation and bankruptcy every day, a beopmusa father is himself in desperate need of rehabilitation. As his son struggles to support him, their story reflects the landscape of debt woven into everyday life. I hope this film becomes the first page in the recovery of those who carry heavy burdens - both financial and emotional.
