The poetic documentary depicts bittersweet everyday life of two grannies living isolated on the hills of Eastern Bosnia. The film emphasizes the intangible cultural heritage, through the presentation of chants and rituals for taming the adverse weather, hail, and storm.

The simple, humble dinner of two elderly women, their daily tending of the potato field, and their chanting of prayers to calm the storm are depicted like a still-life painting, evoking a poem. In particular, the close-up of their working hands invites deep reflection.

Maja Novaković is a Ph.D. candidate studying Sergei Parajanov¡¯s poetics of heritage. Her debut, Then Comes the Evening, won at Full Frame Documentary Festival, earning OSCAR¢ç qualification and 50+ awards. She is a Sarajevo Talents and IDFAcademy alumna.
