SYNOPSIS

One of America¡¯s more recent immigrants, the Nepali, Tibetan and Bhutanese, have shaped a piece of America in their own image in Jackson Heights, Queens. The result is a Himalayan vortex, America and the shangrilaic home they left behind, replete with momo, dal bhat and ema datse eateries, Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples, and a way of caring for their fellow men and women. The diasporic community presents  a brand of diversity against the clamour for greater insularity and exclusionism.

NOTE

The film seeks to show the varied Himalayan peoples in their ¡°natural¡± mode of integrating to America.
