SYNOPSIS
Sabitri takes her son Sridhar, who is questioning his own identity after the discovery of his father’s suicide, on a coming-of-age ritual. However, Sridhar runs away and demands his mother to reveal the secret of his origin. She wants to protect her son from the painful truth but also wants to be honest with him, but the tree where her husband hanged himself still stands, reminding her of the past and her father-in-law who holds the secret and poses a threat.
NOTE
The Witness Tree is the story of the religious rite performed for the initiation of a young man into the next generation of the family, and the story of his struggle to reveal a family secret.
