Maru and My Friend's Wedding

Min-ah has been given many labels, such as single by choice, office worker, disabled person, actress, and activist. On the day of her friend Hyun-kyung’s wedding, Min-ah encounters a lost little black Chihuahua. She names the dog Maru and slowly begins to learn about the life Maru has lived, the time she endured simply to be “cute.” “Maru, what do you see now?”

Actress Kyung-min told me about the three taboos forced upon women with disabilities: dating, marriage, and childbirth. This film was made through reflection on how we could become a bit freer from those.​​​
