A story about generational gaps, depth of land, and an end of a world, all experienced by the last gold prospector community living and working in the distant wilderness of Finnish Lapland.
This film documents the last traditional gold prospectors of Finnish Lapland, whose 150-year-old way of life is being ended by new legislation. It is a touching and humane portrait of their persistence. The great irony is that the government simultaneously allows large multinational companies to establish vast, environmentally impactful mines nearby, seeking minerals for new technologies.
