The true story of Wanda Rutkiewicz, the first European woman to climb the highest peak on Earth. Breaking into the male-dominated world, she paid a heavy price. The director, herself a climber, sets off to the Himalayas in her footsteps. The clue to the search is Wanda¡¯s audio diary: "I know perfectly well, that there's no way back for me". Vanishing 30 years ago, rumours place her in a Buddhist monastery. The film, featuring climbers Reinhold Messner, Krzysztof Wielicki and Carlos Carsolio explores her life and mystery.
On the 25th anniversary of Wanda's disappearance, new speculation began to circulate in the media about her whereabouts. Mountaineers claimed to see Wanda in a Tibetan monastery. At this point, Eliza decides to make the documentary about Wanda Rutkiewicz.
