SYNOPSIS
Beyond begins with Alex Bellini's 2017 Vatnajokull glacier expedition, a life-changing experience. In Jan. 2025, Alex returns to the expedition sites to seek answers and interpret the meaning of what happened eight years earlier with new eyes. Through this reconstruction, the documentary aims to contribute to universal reflection on the meaning of exploration and the concept of limits.
NOTE
Italian explorer Alex Bellini and director Francesco Clerici met at the Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival in 2024 and discovered a shared vision that led to the creation of this film. Seen through the director's eyes, the film presents Bellini not only as an explorer but also as a human being.

Alex Bellini is an Italian explorer, environmental advocate, and motivational speaker. He has rowed across oceans and crossed extreme environments to raise awareness about climate change, resilience, and human impact. His expeditions inspire reflection on personal limits and our relationship with nature.
Francesco Clerici
An award-winning director and university professor. In 2015, Hand Gesture, his first work, won the FIPRESCI prize at Berlin IFF
