PROGRAM

Based in Europe and representing Korea as a coloratura soprano acclaimed not only for her dazzling technique but also for her musical depth, refined interpretation, and elegance, Park Sung-hee has been actively performing leading opera roles and oratorio solos.
Her journey now brings her to UMFF. She opens the 10th Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival with a soaring voice that stirs the soul in "Nella Fantasia," and with the lively rhythms of "Italian Street Song," evoking cherished memories of Naples.

PARK Sung-hee

Park Sung-hee, a coloratura soprano and cultural ambassador of Alba in Piedmont, Italy, promotes Korean culture and arts across Europe, proudly representing Korean identity on the global stage. Known for her clear, pure tone and dazzling technique rooted in the bel canto tradition, she captivates audiences with her artistry.

A granddaughter of the pansori master Lim Bang-ul, she graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in vocal music before becoming the first Asian to earn a Corso di Biennio from the National Conservatory of Adria in Italy. Under the guidance of legendary sopranos Mirella Freni and Mariella Devia, she mastered traditional bel canto technique and developed a refined, elegant performance style. She has won numerous international competitions including Vissi d¡¯arte, Cecina Lirica, and Padova, and made her operatic debut as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute.

Currently signed with the French classical label SKARBO, she actively performs on major opera stages across Europe as a lead soprano in operas, oratorios, and solo concerts. As an ambassador for ChildFund Korea, she also nurtures the dreams of young aspiring artists, fostering mutual growth and helping new artistic legacies blossom through meaningful musical exchange.​
