The UMFF Project is the Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival's production support program, comprising UMFFsummit, which supports professional filmmakers, and UMFFmentary, a documentary education and support program for local citizens.

Launched in 2015, UMFFsummit has premiered its results as world premieres every year. This year, four supported films will be introduced. Meeting audiences for the first time are The living, The mountain, a feature narrative by director Choi Jin-young about those left behind in the wake of a tragedy; A Place of My Own, the story of a wife who left for the mountains and the husband who remains; Age of snow, an animation that portrays growing older as one of nature's beautiful journeys; and Doban, a documentary about a master and an apprentice walking side by side along the path of traditional pottery.

UMFFmentary, presented with the Ulsan Community Media Center, has once again captured life in Ulsan. This year's program offers a precious chance to encounter a rich range of lives on screen: The Story You Are Not In, which sets out in search of the landscapes where a departed friend's gaze once lingered; TO MY CITY, the story of a birdwatcher who has documented Ulsan's birds for fifteen years; Time of Prajna, which traces the legends of Mokdo, an island surrounded by industrial complexes, and the memories of a vanished village; and The Reason, in which a band searching for a reason to keep peforming music and a director searching for the meaning of filmmaking find their answers together.

This year also brings a special screening of particular significance, titled "Remembering Shin Na-ri" Doban from UMFFsummit is the final work of the late director Shin Na-ri, who sought to portray the human heart with warmth, while The Story You Are Not In from UMFFmentary is a documentary remembering the director, made by a longtime friend. In her memory, the Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival will screen Doban and The Story You Are Not In side by side, cherishing the memory of our friend Shin Na-ri.
