The ¡°Human¡± section is composed of ¡°Back in the Days¡± and works by emerging directors.

Under the theme ¡°Back in the Days¡± features films by three ¡°young¡± Korean directors who once defined their generation, as well as a silent film. The Korean titles in this program were co-curated with the Korean Film Archive. Leading the lineup is Jungle Story, the second feature by director Kim Hong-joon, starring the YB with music directed by the late Shin Hae-chul. This remastered version will be unveiled for the first time, followed by a special live performance by YB.

Warm It Was That Winter(1984), based on the novel by Park Wan-suh and directed by Bae Chang-ho, offers deep insight into family and generational issues. Also featured is The Money by the late Kim So-dong, a vivid depiction of rural life in the late 1950s, now designated as a National Registered Cultural Heritage item.

In addition, Buster Keaton¡¯s silent comedy Go West reflects the era¡¯s blend of hope and anxiety through characters navigating diverging paths. It will be screened with a live score performed by the SooYoung Chin Cinema Ensemble for an enhanced experience.

Rounding out the section are works by emerging directors that explore life¡¯s dilemmas and human relationships. Ac- tor Jang Dong-yoon¡¯s directorial debut, The Yeast explores an original subject through a distinct genre lens. Rectangle, Triangle the directorial debut of actor Lee Hee-jun, portrays complex family dynamics and tensions through compelling performances. SAVE  by director Bang Mi-ri, actress, starring singer-songwriter Kim Pu-reum and actress Song Sun-mi, reconsiders the meaning of ¡°new family¡± through gripping performances. Lastly, World Premiere, an autobiographical fable by independent director Kim Seon-been, offers a candid portrayal of the struggles and realities of filmmaking.
