UMFF Project is a production-support program by Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival, consisting of Ulju Summit, an expert production-support program, and Uljumentary, a documentary productionsupport program for the general public. Additionally, 2022 Ulsan International Film Festival¡¯s Ulsan Production films will be introduced in this section.
Since 2015, Ulju Summit has released world premiere films every year. A great number of films were awarded at Mountain Film Festivals and were released in Korean theaters. This year¡¯s films include Shaping Trout, which talks about the Korean suffer Sang-Moon¡¯s life, directed by Heo Seong, The Tree¡¯s Home, an animated story about a Tree woman changing its life in motherly manner, Void, Tak Ki-young¡¯s first directed film, and Prithee, a film by Kang So-hee and Kim Joon dealing with a remarkable convention between the past and the present.
Uljumentary(a compound word of Ulju and documentary) is a media education and support program hosted by Ulju Mountain Film Festival and Ulsan Community Media Center. Through this project, films are released at the Ulju Mountain Film Festival and later introduced in other film festivals in Korea. This year, Uljumentary created a total of four short documentaries, two of which introducing the people and region of Ulju, and other two about their own stories. Particularly, 2022 Ulsan International Film Festival¡¯s Ulsan Production films will demonstrate diversity of genre-horror, melodrama and social drama, and etc, which made by new, young filmmakers. We sincerely hope that all 34 UMFF Projects will gain wide interests from numerous audiences.
